Q: Can I put 2008 honda civic si parts into my 2008 civic lx?
I have a 2008 honda civic lx and wanted to get a supercharger for it? Can i get a 2008 Honda Civic Si supercharger for it?

A: no. The motor configuration is totally different. Sad thing is that the SI in stock form will make more HP than the supercharged LX.

Q: Can you run a sts tubo charger kit on honda civic si 06?
Would the universal STS TURBO KIT work for honda civic si 06? and is a good or a safe idea?

A: you can boost anything…will the universal kit work? it says its universal…probly pretty crappy, yes, when there designed for a certain car they bend the pipes to run in a decent place, is it safe? depends on how much boost you plan to run, and what your compression is, and you definitely dont want detonation

what i would do? sell the honda and get a F body or something else with a v8…why spend 3k+ on a mod thats not even going to get you to where a stock LT1 camaro is

Q: Can I buy a 2008 Honda Civic Si grill and switch it with an LX version?
So I just bought a 2008 Honda Civic LX but I despise the silver grill cover thing on it, can I buy a Honda Civic Si version where it’s black and put it on there?

A: Yes, take a look here (http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/exterior-style-mods/35976-d-i-y-si-grill-lx-dx-ex-sedan.html).

Q: How to install ‘Progress Springs’ on a 2004 Honda Civic Si?
I recently bought a set of front/rear ‘Progress Springs’ for my 2004 Honda Civic Si with the intention of having them professionally installed. After speaking with a few people I was told that installing them myself is not that difficult. Any helpful hints? Thanks in advance!

A: well ive changed springs on a 94 dx.. its not that hard..

all u need is two friends, metric wrenches , sockets, allen key set, hammer, 4 jack stands, jack, flash light, 2 spring compressers , and .wd-40.

this is the way we did it.. we put the car up on the stands… took off the wheels and unbolted the struts from the car ( under the hood and in the trunk) then we unbolted the struts from the suspension arms……… also in the front – u have to take the brake lines off the strut…..

after u have them out.. u use the spring compresser to compress the spring. then u use an alen wrench and spanner to remove the top bolts…….. there are two of em……

after that u jsut slide the cap off along witht eh bushing… the comes off the spring………

then u remove the spring compressers off the old springs,, and u put em on the new 1, slide the compressed spring onto teh strut, and do everything u did but in reverse… it took us 4 hrs to
do everythign…… but im sure u u get a Haynes manual from Autozone… u can get it done in no time at all……

have fun….

Q: Honda civic si year 200 with a garret turbo kit?
I’m considering buying a Honda civic si b16 with a garret turbo kit! would the turbo do much for the car since its a high compression engine already?

A: With the b16 you can go safely with about 4 pounds of boost before you have to start changing out motor parts. You will definitely feel the boost, even at 4 pounds,

BUT I would not get that car. I guarantee that the person who owned that car has beat the crap out of it. You only boost a car for 1 reason, to go fast, and that is what that person did.

That engine was not built for a turbo, and a turbo would diminish the life of that motor greatly. It will not be too long before that car is going to need some major repair, which is why he is probably selling it.

Q: is it possible to change a honda civic si 2000 stick into a automatic?
i have a honda civic si 2000 its a stick but i want to change it to a automatic i want to know how much it will cost me to do so and what kind of Transmissions do i need…is it possible to change my honda civic si 2000 into a automatic…

A: Sure. All you need to do is buy a 2000 or similar model year Civic Si that already has an automatic transmission. Then you need to remove the transmission, ECU, complete wirting harness, CV shafts, mounts, shifter assembly, center console, pedal assembly and brake master cylinder and transfer all of these into your current car – after removing the existing tranny of course.

Or you could just sell the manual tranny car and buy one with an automatic. It will cost substantially less, the car will have resale value (which your Frankenstein won’t) and it will be reliable to boot.

Q: Another alternative other than a Honda Civic Si?
Just expanding my options, Just trying to find other cars that has the same qualities as a honda civic si?

A: Mitsubishi Lancer, Toyoto Corolla/Altis or the Mazda 3. Among the 3 I would pick the new lancer, it is a lot more similar in performance to the civic and is also exquisitely designed like the civic. It has a sporty look and is a nice car to start with if you have plans to add some modifications to it later on.

Q: What cars are better than the new (2008+) Honda Civic Si within the same price range?
I have a 2010 Honda Civic EX that I am leasing. It is fun to drive but I need something with way more kick… 0-60 in nine seconds just doesn’t quite cut it for me… I have been looking at the Si’s and I’m just wondering what else is out there.

A: There is absolutely NO naturally aspirated 4 cylinder car that competes with the Civic SI.Nothing, zero nadda zilch. 100HP/Liter and 8,000 rpm is completely unattainable by anyone else in this price class, period-much less RELIABLY. I have 152,000 on my rsx-s..all these jokers talking about crappy boosted cars..yeah how long will they run?

Q: Is a honda civic si considered a sports car with insurances?
i am talking about a 2007 4 door honda civic si
i am hoping to get someone who previously owned one or one with the same model.
please dont refer me to any websites, i just need an answer with proof

A: its a sedan. it should be cheaper than the coupe.

Q: Is a 1999 honda civic SI quick little car?
Would i notice a huge difference between a 99 eclipse ”GS” and a 99 honda civic si?

A: Hands Down. YES.
Your eclipse has torque but you haven’t experienced the awesome power of the VTEC.
Its like a f***in roller coaster ride bro.
Test drive the car, find an open strip and floor it. Open it up and after you hit the 3100 rpm mark your tach will jump. its awesome.
VTEC = Variable valve Timing and Electronic lift Control.
Changes your camshaft profile entirely to open your valves for longer and raises them higher, optimizing them for the higher rpms producing awesomeness.
the Si’s engine is a sought after engine for honda enthusiasts and so is that car.
BUY IT, i guarantee you’ll like it.

Q: Is this a good deal on a 2007 honda civic si?
2007 Honda Civic SI 62,000 miles, 6 speed, VTEC engine , keyless entry, sunroof, 17″ aftermarket rims nice good tires, after market header, chipped, dynod , cold air intake, lowered, nice CD player, 4 door, 197 HP stock this has 237 HP and 207 at the wheels. It is black and I have talked the guy down to $11000. Is that a good deal or not?

A: well I personally have to question alot of things about this deal. one would be, why bother putting a car on the dyno that you just put an intake and a header on? theres no point, dyno time is 500bucks+ and there no reason to tune a car that is stock, the ecu is already tuned just fine. I also find it rather funny that all that only added 10 horsepower, for probably almost a grand after the dyno time.

Anyways, the lowest condition Kbb is fair, and in fair condition the car is worth 11,900 for a private party, so with all this added extra stuff, the rims im sure where a grand with tires, lowering isnt cheap, and the 10 xtra hp as well, Why would he let it go for so cheap?? Its rare to find a 06+ si for less than 14 grand.

I would personally bring it to a mechanic to have it looked over before buying and make sure there isnt something your not seeing or being told about it.. if it all checks out then its a hell of a deal.

Q: Is there a repair manual for 2003 Honda Civic SI hatchback?
Is there a repair manual for 2003 Honda Civic SI hatchback? ..like a Haynes or Chilton’s?

Q: Does anyone know how to change the timing belt on a 1994 Honda Civic Si?
I have a 1994 Honda Civic Si and I need to change the timing belt but I don’t know how, does anyone have any advice or know a website that I could look it up on w/o having to buy a book?

A: It’s real easy if you have the tools, first you’ll need a crank pulley wrench if not use a chain wrench to hold the pulley while you remove the bolt. Once you got the bolt off loosen the belt tensioner then slide the belt off, now reverse and done, you can go to hondahookup.com and reg to be a member and download there manuals.

Q: When i go to the honda dealership, do i just ask for the light/lamp cover for my 2000 honda civic si?
What exactly do i do to buy the plastic cover for my inside/interior light at the honda dealership? do i just walk in and ask for that specific piece?? are u sure the dealership has that piece for my 2000 honda civic si? its the light inside the car above the drivers head next to the moon roof button. help please???

A: Just tell them what year and model you have. They will look up the correct part number for you. They might have it in stock or they might need to order it.

Q: Do insurance companys consider the Honda civic si has a sports car?
My company is AAA and does anyone know who much my insurance would cost Im a 16 year old Male in Tennessee and im real looking at the blue honda civic si coupe thanks

A: Even though the Insurance might classify the Si as a sports car, the insurance rate on it is based on the amount of people that own the car, average age, percentage of the car being stolen, etc.

I have a 07 si and the insurance on it is higher compared to an STI or a S2K.

Found out that because the average age of people that own the S2K are higher than me, the percentage of the S2K owners getting into an accident or tickets are lower than the Civic owners.

Also, from what I understand, the Si wouldn’t really be considered a sports car. the Si is still a civic. since I got the Si Sedan my insurance was a little cheaper compared to the coupe.

as you know the STI is a car that people like to mod/race, but the insurance still treats it as an impreza only, so don’t worry too much on the trim.
