Q: what is the cheapest way of getting a 91 camaro to 350 hp?
this might be too much of a generalized question, but i own a 91 camaro RS and would like to turn it into a kickass muscle car. i currently have 275 hp and would like to try to get ti to 350 at least. does anyone have any ideas?
in response to bolting in a bigger crate engine, right now its got the 305 in it and it is a v-8 which i forgot to mention. however would it be worth getting the 350 in?

I own a 1982 Camaro. Stock 305, four Barrel Carb. Runs like new, pretty descent power. What bolt on things would be beneficial to my car? Would a new carb, intake manifold, and headers add noticeable power? How big of a difference would a mild cam make? And no, I will not pull the engine.

Swapping to a 350 would be your best option, but the mods you suggest would be a noticable improvement. Still wouldnt run 14s though, and personally Id have a hard time justifiying the effort/expense.
Id get a newer Fbody. The LT1 runs 13s stock, and they are getting cheap now. Hell, even the 3.8s will outgun your 305

I’ve got a 2000 Camaro Z28 and I was just thinking of modifications to put on it. I thought of the ProCharger. It’s easy to install, good horsepower gains, and looks very good, but I don’t know how much it will hurt my mpg.
A: You won’t notice any gas mileage difference unless you keep your foot in it. I have a big block Malibu with a B&M supercharger on it, and it actually gets decent gas mileage, but when you lay into it, it comes to life, and forget about mileage.
Q: What features are in a z28 camaro that aren’t in a ’standard’ camaro?
I am looking at 4th Generation camaros (94-02) and cannot figure out what features are in the z28 that are not in a ‘normal’ camaro. Specifically 98-02 camaros. Is it worth make sure I have a z28 or do all camaros during that time period pretty much rock?

I bout the camaro and tranny seperate and the tranny that came out was not a lock up. But the new one is i know theres a way to hook up a toggle switch but How? Any help is awesome?
A: If you have three wires : purple – hot from brake light switch .
dark green : high gear switch [ not needed ]
tan / black – you want to put this wire to ground ,that’s it .
When the transmission comes to temperature you will get lock up after 2/3 shift . MAKE SURE the TV cable is properly adjusted if not the transmission will not live long , check with a pressure gauge at both open and closed throttle .
Q: How much would it cost to cut of and reweld a control arm on a Camaro?
I bought this camaro. Im in a bad spot and wondering whether or not I should sell this car. Put the car on a lift and saw that the control arm had broke of and they re-welded it in the wrong spot. Just wondering if anyone has ever dealt with something like that and how much it cost.
A: just buy a new control arm and install it, you didn’t say what year your camaro is but the aftermarket is full of camaro parts and not that expensive because it’s such a popular car.

I have a 2001 chevy camaro v6 and my turn signals don’t work well. I have to move the turn signal up and down to give it a flash that i want to turn right or left. If I try to turn the signal to make a right, it doesnt blink or make any noise. Also my front signals don’t work. The only time it makes the flashing signal without me forcing it is when i turn on the emergency lights. The front parking lights or turnsignal dont work either when I do that. The only flashing is coming from my rear turn signals. I tried to replace the turn signal flasher but could not reach or find it. I am wondering if that is the problem.
A: chcek the fuse thats all i could think of if they work with the emergency flashers
Q: Can i still fit my 96 firebird engine parts on my 97 camaro engine?
So i got a 97 camaro engine dropped into my 96 firebird after the original engine seized up. But before all of that i had just bought a 96 firebird cold air intake and K&N air filter. Can i still fit it on the camaro engine? And for future reference should i be searching for 97 camaro engine parts or 96 firebird parts?
I know that the camaro and firebird are extremely related to one another but not sure if the engine is the same.
A: Yeah they’ll fit…I gotta’ tell you though, I just wish I could get people on this forum to stop being duped by silly marketing lies about CAI’s and K&N air filters. That stuff is a complete waste of money…Enjoy washing your air filter!

Q: What would be required to Convert an 89 305 v8 camaro from auto to stickshift?
I wanna convert my 89 camaro from an auto to a stickshift. Tired of automatics.
A: First you will need all of the shift lever parts, cover plates, boots, etc. The engine needs it’s flywheel replaced with one for a manual trans. (Different than the one used with an automatic) The pedal assembly for a stick shift can be picked up at a junk yard and uses the same mounting brackets as the automatic’s pedals.
Plug the vacuum lines from the engine to the automatic. The hardest part is determining which sensors need to be removed/added and where in the electrical harness they are located. Usually the schematic diagram in the Haynes or Chilton repair manual shows both the manual trans hookups and the automatic hookups. Also check the drive shaft to make sure it’s the right length, as some automatics are longer and thus use shorter drive shafts. Check the trans mounts to make sure they line up. They are usually the same, but I’ve seen a few cars with 2 sets of mounting points available depending on trans. Add clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and lots of physical labor and it’s done.

A: Try replacing the bulbs. If that doesn’t work you may have bad light sockets.

Just bought a new Camaro and I was wondering how to and how long the break-in period would be? Car cost me a good chunk of money and I want to do everything right.
A: Just drive it. I’m 61 years old and have lost track of the number of cars I’ve bought new. Never drove any of them special to “break them in”. When it left the assembly line I’ll bet money the guy that drove it away wasn’t easy on it because he had to get back to the plant to drive the next one away. In 1970 a salesman friend of mine loaned me a new Chevy Impala while my car was in the shop. He disconnected the speedo so the miles wouldn’t show. I ran the pi** out of that for two days. We still laugh about the guy who eventually bought it new and drove it carefully to “break it in”!!!
