Find more great information about the Chevy Camaro at your number one automotive source: TunedTech.ca

Q: How many miles will a 2000 chevy camaro v6 3.8L engine last for?
I am buying one and it wasn’t taken care of too well. it has 126,000 miles on it and im wondering what is the average mileage for a 2000 chevy camaro v6 3.8L engine that wasn’t taken care of too well

A: If it wasnt taken care of then dont buy it, it wont last too much longer….. does it smoke or use oil? check the oil level and see what it is at. If the car uses oil and smoke stay away from it. It will be just a headache.

Q: How loud is the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS?
Im wondering how loud the engine is on the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS, with the 6.2 liter V8 engine that is.

A: Its stock so of course its not loud. nice tone thow.

Q: What is the bolt pattern on a 1991 Chevy Camaro? Is it the same as a 1990?
I’m trying to sell a set a wheels I had on my 1991 Chevy Camaro. I’m wondering what is the bolt pattern? And will the wheels fit on any other cars (if so, what makes/models)? Thanks!

A: The bolt pattern for the 1991 and 1990 camaro is 5-475 these wheels will also fit the pontiac firebird for the same years listed which also is a 5-475 bolt pattern.Best of luck.

Q: Does anyone know where i can hire a Chevy Camaro in Wilmington North Carolina?
I’m looking to rent a Chevy Camaro in October this year and was hoping that there was someone in Wilmington North Carolina with info. I already know that AVIS doesn’t have any in the Wilmington fleet. Maybe there is a local rental that does??

A: You may be out of luck with that one…dealers are to busy selling all they get..

Q: Will the new chevy camaro price decrease?
i am planning to buy a new car next summer and i’ve been looking at the new 2010 chevy camaro. my question is, will the price go down at all by summer of 2010?

A: Maybe if one thing happens if the sales slow and they start to build up on dealer lots then yes they will start to offer discounts. We are selling ours for sticker we have sold 3 and have 2 more coming in. I expect to have more on order in a few weeks. Just be patient and they will come down. Just a note My mom loves hers.

Q: Hood latch striker and safety latch striker for a 2001 Chevy Camaro?
I’ve been looking everywhere for a hood sriker for the above mentioned car. Would a hood latch for a crown victoria fit the chevy camaro hood? Does anyone know? Thanks.

The only reason I’m asking is because I used the search “01 chevy camaro hood latch striker” and i got a link of a store selling strikers for a crown victoria, so it got me wondering.

Thanks again!

A: don’t think so but have you tried going down to local junkyard and taking one off a car junk yard can tell you how far back or forward in years you can go to get what you need

Q: How much would it cost to fix this 78 chevy Camaro?
Okay I found this 78 chevy camaro it runs alright it needs spark plugs carbrator head lights rear lights wendshield wipers all new interior and a simple paint job

A: Chad’s got a pretty good estimate. The plugs/wires/wipers and headlights are the cheap items – you’ll get them all for under a hundred bucks.

The carburetor is a different matter. If it still has its’ carb, you can assess it to see if it can be rebuilt. Rebuilding the carb isn’t that expensive (kits are between 20-50 bucks). You can also try to luck out with a carb on eBay – sometimes you’ll get good basic carbs there for 50-100 bucks depending.

As for the interior, it depends. Rear sail panels are tough to find, and good reproduction parts are a little expensive. For new seat cushions, covers, carpet, dash cover, door panels, miscellaneous hardware and such, I’d budget about 1500 or so, and do your best to locate the easier stuff on auction.

A “simple paint job” is up to you. A just-barely-adequate spray can be had for 500-600 bucks if you do some of the prep work, or you can look for a better looking, more durable job for around 1000-1200. A real sweet paint job, with attention to all the details is easily a lot more than that. All depending on where you live, of course.

Q: Changing a front blinker on 2002 chevy camaro?
Help, I’m trying to change the front blinker bulb on a 2002 chevy camaro. What do I need to do to gain access to the panel. I tried popping out the yellow plastic in front but it doesn’t come out easily. Do i have to take out the entire headlamp assembly to get to it. you would think this should be easier!!

Thanks for any help!

A: My Mom and Dad own’s one. But we never changed the blinker yet. Anyways, They own a 1997 also. You have to get underneath the car and pull the wiring out. form the inside. Then change the light. Then you are good. Be careful you don’t ruin the wires. Don’t just pull and pull on them. See a way you can take them out. We have changed the one on the 1997 before. That’s how I know this. Good Luck. You spelled Camero wrong.

Q: I have a 1998 chevy camaro and have a single sub box laid inside my trunk. I found a custom subwoofer box made?
for a 1997 chevy camaro and am wondering if the 1997 and 1998 trunk layout and dimensions are the same. This a is custom box that holds 2 subwoofers and goes were the t-top racks are in the trunk. Again wnat to know if the 97 and 98 (which is mine 98) is the same layout and dimensions so I am not buying a sub box made for 97 and does not fit my 98 . Thanks

A: ask for the dimensions of the sub box from the seller and measure your car trunk… are you serious?

Q: I have a 1996 chevy camaro and i can not get it started because my factory alarm is going on. How can it fix?
I have a 1996 chevy camaro and i can not get it started because my factory alarm is going on. How can i get it fixed?
can someone help me with some ideas

A: Chances are the electronic chip in your key is no longer working. When your ignition doesn’t match with your key (doesn’t read the correct code from the key) it will set off the alarm, prevent the fuel system from delivering fuel and cut-off the starter system. You would need a new key and a Chevy dealer. The dealer can read your old key and know which key to make for you using the correct chip. Then when the key and cylinder match up it will start.

Q: where can i find the two 89 Chevy camaro T-top windows/plastic (what ever they are called)… ? ?
i need to replace the two plastics that go on the t-top of an 89 chevy camaro, but dont know where to find it (i dont wanna get it on e-bay, just dont like it there)… and some other accessories for my 89 camaro that i want to fix up… ty all…

A: Look for a junk yard 1st (auto parts used in phone book)

Non local to you then check out www.hawksthirdgenparts.com I have ordered from him in the past. Grreat place to deal with.

Also check out www.paddockparts.com and www.yearone.com

You can use the t top trim from any T top 1982-1992 camaro or firebird. They are pretty much the same car and those parts you need will interchange

Q: Do you think that the Chevy Camaro is a guy car?
I’m a girl and I made my dad a deal that if I get a scholarship to college, I can get a car of my choice worth my 1st years tuition or less. I said I wanted a brand new Chevy Camaro and my older sister said “Thats a guy car.” Do you think it’s a guy car?

A: To be honest I have sold more of them to women than men. In fact my mom bought our stores first Camaro.

Q: Where can I rent either a chevy camaro or chevy corvette in Illinois?
I am going on prom soon and I have been looking for a camaro or corvette to rent. I have checked Hertz and Avis both rental places but I cant find these type of cars in my area (zip code 60617) I want to know does anyone know a specific location where I can rent either one of these cars for sure? Please help its very appreciated.

A: Hertz and Avis are big car rental companies which prefer having cars for tourist’s or to say who hire for long duration, that’s why they seemed unavailable there. You can try at http://www.pointcarhire.com/ or exotic car hire hope you get the any of the car you are looking for.

Q: How much does a chevy camaro cost like in the tranformers bumblebee?
i want a camaro. How much would it cost for a camaro? ____
How much would it cost for the paint job once i have the car_______
WHeels and other stuff?_______
grand total__________.

please estimate. thanks

A: Go to the chevy website…www.chevrolet.com base is about 25,700. but with all the options you want you’re looking at about 45-50,000

Q: what is the best spark plug brand for a 1999 chevy camaro?
1999 V6 Chevy camaro turbo charged.

A: AC Delco Platinum are the best. I put them in my 2002 trans am It ran like a clock.

Find more great information about the New Civic SI at your number one automotive source: TunedTech.ca

Q: Diffrence between a base RSX and the new CIVIC Si?
I have a 04 rsx base model 160 hp 141 tq etc.The new Civic Si has 197 hp and 131 tq….anyway, they use the same K20a3 engine. Everything is the exact same execpt one is auto and one is manual. So can some one tell me why the civic Si is so much faster than the rsx? And can i take my car to the service department and acutally get the stuff changed around to make it that fast?

A: no they use different engines they new si uses the k20a3 which has 197hp..base rsx uses the k20a2 which has 160hp that is the engine difference

Q: How long will it take to get a new Civic SI when you order it from the manufacturer?
I want to get a Honda civic SI but they are all out of stock in my area. I’m wondering about how long should I expect to wait for them to get it from the manufacturer? I’m getting a stock Si with no accessories.

A: Probably a month or two, considering they aren’t in extremely high demand at the moment. However, have you considered asking your dealer to try to locate one within the network of new car dealers? This may be faster than ordering one from the factory, provided they can find what you are looking for.

Q: Has Honda fixed the 3rd gear problem on the new Civic Si?
I am looking to purchase a new or slightly used vehicle. I have always owned either Honda or Toyota and I am looking for a vehicle similar to the Si. I have looked at the VW GTI as well and I am on the fence about which one would be the better purchase.

A: VW R32. That’s all I’ll say.

Q: What car washing products should I buy for a brand new black Civic Si?
My boyfriend just bought his first new car, a black Honda Civic Si. He really loves taking care of his car and since his birthday along with nice weather is just around the corner, I wanted to get him a nice complete set of car washing products. Can anyone tell me what I should get him? I’m completely clueless!

A: As far as washing products, all of them are about the same soap wise, but if he wants it to really shine, tell him to get Turtle Wax Express shine. It is great and requires no hard rubbing and buffing. I used to have a 2003 Impala and it gleamed.

Q: Hmmm, I want to sell my ‘02 rsx base, should I get an ‘04 S2000 or a new Civic Si coupe?
I saw an ad for an ‘04 S2K with 17,000 miles for $17,000. A new Si will run me close to $25,000 with tax & dealer fees. What would get if you wanted to get a nice 2 door car?

A: First off, Id say Si sedan if you wanted the new car. I have an ‘09 sedan and love it. Especially after owning coupes for 5 years. As far as your S2000. That’s AP2. You want it to have throttle cable too. Some AP2s have cable and some have drive-by-wire. DBW has slower acceleration and is less responsive. Should check out www.s2ki.com for more input. Lots of good advice there.

Q: Which do you think is better the new Civic Si or the new Scion tC? And why?
Basically im graduating from college march 09, and i want to buy myself and affordable and nice sports car.

A: Civic more fun to drive

the tc isn’t agile and the steering is vague

Q: Is the new civic si really “all that” they say it is???
I currently own a 2004 rsx type s its fun n all but i was thinking about switchin over to something new for a change maybe the civic si but im not sure how well it would perform???

A: It doesn’t matter what kind of vehicle you drive, to make any vehicle better you always can add parts to it, some are more expensive then others to fix up, also it depends on what you are looking for, performance, handling, all out speed, etc. and having a good driver definately makes a difference.

I don’t believe any vehicle manufacturer can say their vehicle is all that.

Q: Should i get a brand new civic si sedan or a used s2000 that has fair mileage for the same price?
what do u think i should get?..which is more practical?..if i get any of them ill leave it stock for about 6 months den ill mod dem..i dont have a family its just me..ill be drving it to work everyday..oh yah 1 more thing s2000 is one of my favorite car..but which is the smarter wiser better decision?..

A: Can you drive stick? S2000 doesn’t have an auto, not standard or as an option. The S2000 is an impractical, pure sports car. If you want to primarily carry people or things, go for the Civic. If you can deal with the rougher ride and less practicality, then go for the S2000. Very different cars for very different purposes.

Q: should I get a NEW civic si or a USED 2006 pontiac gto?
Please don’t answer unless you have knowledge of both cars please. Thank you!!
oh the gto has 25,000 miles!

A: wow, those are really on opposite ends of the spectrum. People who have Honda’s seem to love them. I had one for a short time but didn’t like it. The GM V8 engines are solid, so I don’t think reliability will be a determining factor here. You should really just get what you want. The GTO looks really nice and is a little less common. Are you more comfortable with rear wheel drive or front? I personally like RW drive. Do you have to deal with snow during the winter months? if so a Front wheel drive might be better. (Unless your like me and love the power slides!) Also the SI will get better gas mileage, something to consider for when the price goes back up. It’s really going to be about which style of car you like best, American muscel? or Import tuner?

Q: Used s2000 or New Civic SI?
I’ve got a budget of around 20-25k and I’m trying to decide on whether I should get slightly used s2000 or go brand new and get a Civic Si Coupe.

A little information I’m about 6″ 250. 22 and about to graduate from college and single . I don’t plan on carrying too many passengers and I live in moderate climate (VA) with little or no snow.

I really like the s2000 but is it practical enough for driving around town and to work?

A: whatever you do stay away from the civic. if ur in a civic you might get refered to as a ricer and if you dont know what it is go to urban dictionary and look it up.

Q: should i get a 2006 pontiac gto or a new honda civic si with vtec?
Can someone tell me the pros and cons of each and which one should i get im 18yrs old and about to go to college i love american muscle but the civic si i hear can move to

A: GTO – pros
V8, American muscle
smoke most mustangs and that SI
GTO – cons
V8, American gas prices
build quality is poor
interior is junk
gear box is junk

Civic – Pros
reliable
well built
cheap
good mpg’s
Civic – cons
interior is weird
unoriginal, everybody has one
lacks torque

you should by a GTI or a R32, drive one and you’ll see what i mean

Q: what is the price range of the new civic si 4-door sedan?
is there a website with good pics and info on it?
fyi the si has an upcoming sedan version for next year’s model lineup

A: here the price, and 360 degree picture

http://autos.yahoo.com/newcars/honda_civicsedan_2006/4676/model_overview.html;_ylt=AkALY6X5KNHW6gPbm42QHHhZeb8F

Q: How hard is it to buy a EPB 2000 Civic SI around New York? Ive been looking and only found a few.?

A: They are almost impossible to find around here. When you do find one you have to buy QUICK. I have a friend selling his 98 EX that looks just like the 2000 Si has the f+r lip and side skirts from the Si, Si rims, but has a B18c1 GSR rather than the b16a2. He is asking $6200 OBO. Im in upstate near lake george if you are interested

Q: How much do you think my monthly payments will be on a brand new 2008 civic si coupe, with $5,000 down?
My credit score is 737 BTW.

A: What is the total cost of the vechicle? Once your find that out, go to this calculator and plug in your numbers.

http://www.bankrate.com/brm/auto-loan-calculator.asp

Your interest rate would probably be about 7 percent and I would put in no more than 60 months. You don’t want to be paying on that car forever. Good luck.

Q: I just purchased a new 06 civic si. What mods would you recommend to boost it’s performance?
Anything???

A: headers exhaust coldair intake low compression piston with turbo

Q: Info on the Ferrari 430 Scuderia?
I’ve been told time and time again that the Ferrari 430 Scuderia matches the Enzo’s lap time around the Fiorano test track. Is this true? Does the 599 go around there that fast to, and does the 458 Italia go around it faster? Any information will be appreciated.

A: Yes its just as fast around that track due to weight rpm ediff.
The 599 is slower its was heavier. I dont know what the 458 does, all I know is they catch on fire all the time. Lol

Q: Would you date a 21 yr old millionaire?
Lets say that this guy is around 5′7…attractive..a heir of over 30 million..drives a ferrari 458…lives in LA…what some would consider a “badboy”…but at the same time not a snob, yet funny and charming. Would you date a guy like this?

A: Without a second thought yes.

Q: is it legal to seat a 6 year old (under 70 pounds) in a 2 door 2 seat car?
im in the USA is it legal to seat a 6 year old (under 70 pounds) in a 2 door 2 seater car like a ferrari 458
corvette something like that

A: If it is the only mode of transportation for the child, it’s not illegal. But it’s also not safe. Most US states require that he’s still in a booster seat. Move the seat all the way back.

Q: don’t you love questions with “the best” coupled to “but not expensive”?
it plagues all y-answers categories but somehow common sense never impacts people’s belief they’ll find it. “whats the best ferrari 458 for 100 dollars?” i mean really.do people think that we (answerers) are going to inundate them with all sorts of high quality product suggestions that are available for pennies?

A: Go hang out in the ‘Dogs’ section for awhile.

You have no idea how many people expect to find purebred (fill-in-the-breed) puppies for FREE. As if good breeders just GIVE those babies away, right?

Q: Maserati or ferrari!!!!?
which one do u think looks better

http://www.maserati.com/maserati/en/en/index/models/GranTurismo-S.html

http://www.ferrari.com/English/GT_Sport%20Cars/CurrentRange/458-Italia/Pages/458-Italia.aspx

A: they are both real beautiful.
i love ‘em both.
but i’ve got to say, the Grand Turismo S has my vote.
still love the 458 though.

Q: GT5 ‘Gran Turismo World Championship’ help please?
hi, im trying to win the GTWC and i am having trouble winning, ive got the Ferrari 458 and i would like some tuning tips, or if anyones done it in this car, there set up please?

thanks alot

A: That car may be too slow even fully worked. I got the skyline r34 and fully worked it, and won without any issues. Now i have the bugatti veyron

Q: What is your dream car?
the question is pretty self explanatory.

i got bored so i felt like asking , What your Dream Car?

mine is the Ferrari 458 or Ferrari California. (what can i say i love Ferrari’s)

A: Ferrari F-430

Q: would you buy a ferrari 360 spider for 37000 euros?
I mean a ferrari 360 spider of 2004 with 24.000 km for 37000 euros … is it worth ? I mean is it to old ,,, after the 360 there is f430 and now 458 italia ,,,, so what your opinion should I buy the 360 spider or should i wait 4 years and buy the 458 italia?
well it is cheap because its old ,, we are now in 2010 and its a 6 years old ferrari , and a 3rd generation one ,, its the 360 ,, 430 ,, and now 458 ,,,, the person that is selling it is in england ,,, and nobody buys it there because its an europian car… I was just asking if it to old ,,, and should I wait another year to buy a f430 ?

A: that is still cheap i paid 100,000 us for mine, but that is a lot of miles for a ferrari

Q: What does “high claim” mean?
The high-performance Ferrari 458 was launched to higher claim.

What does “high claim” mean in the sentence above?

A: I think you may mean ‘high acclaim’

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/acclaim

Q: Whats Your Top 10 Dream Cars?
Mine:
AUDI R8 V10
LAMBORGHINI REVENTON
FERRARI 458
LAMBORGHINI SUPPERLEGGERA
MERCEDES SLS AMG
AUDI A7 or AUDI A8
LAMBORGHINI LP 670-4 SuperVeloce
PORSCHE CAYENNE HYBRID
TOYOTA AURIS HYBRID
ASTON MARTIN ONE-77 or DBS

A: Bentley continental GTC – custom colour
BMW M5
Rolls Royce Phantom
911 turbo
Mercedes Maclaren
Audi RS8
Range Rover sport
BMW X5 – had one – awesome car
Jag XF
BMW M3

Q: Which is the Best Ferrari?
California in black or 458 Italia in black? What’s your thoughts?
Please don’t mention any other Ferrari’s; just these two. Ta

A: I prefer the F40. No electronics to compensate for a lack of driver skill.

But given a choice between the California and the 458 Italia, I’d go with the 458, but in red.

Q: Maserati vs Lamborghini vs Ferrari?
Hello. I am 64 and retired. I am looking into buying a sports/luxury car. I can afford these cars, so don’t say I can’t.

I had my mind set on the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4. However, does it drive really low to the ground? The problem for me could arise in the entering and exiting of the car. Is it a real pain?

If Lamborghini is to low to get into, my next choice would be either the Ferrari 458 Italia or the Ferrari California. I think the 458 looks more exotic, but could I ad a navigation system to it? Is it any comfortable?

Another car would be the Bentley Continental GT. Fast and luxurious at the same time. However, if I’m paying 200k for a car, I want it to be a head turner, noticeable, and something that people take photos of. Is the bentley all of that?

The last car which is 50k cheaper is the Maserati Gran Turismo S. It is a huge head turner, but it is not as fast as the cars listed above. Some people complain that the seats can be uncomfortable.

So, do you think it is worth it to spend an extra 50k on a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Bentley over a Maserati. Although I can afford these cars, I still would like to be smart with my money.

So if you do think the extra 50k is worth it, which car should I get (Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Bentley)? If you think the Maserati is a great car, tell me please.

Thank you for your input.

A: hey !!!!!!

I tried an f458 and a lp640 (both of my friends )
the F458 is a beast ….. and the sound is (oh my god) awesome

If You Have Money F458!!

A: i could say everything theses people say’d to you because they are all true. but for you i would say the bentley Continental gt speed. it has the Performance the style luxury and the rarity factor to it and its a larger car. easy er to get in and out and is sweet. and kudos for wanting to buy something cool and not being one of those old people who buy an old cadi. if you have any questions about any care or any thing about the car you are going to buy email me at laduke25@yahoo.com good luck

@ Jeffery..sweet..that’s good to know.
ummm…a downside would be that he smokes weed on the daily.

A: LA NO WAY!

Q: What do people think of a rich kid….?
who’s a sophomore in college and drives his dad’s ferrari 458 italia (technically mine cuz my dad doesn’t drive it…he does business in china)…i’m actually not stuck up at all…if anything i kind of lack confidence..but how would people perceive me???

A: You might find people a little stand offish. Most people don’t drive cars like that. There are other rich people who wouldn’t be caught dead in one. Makes them look wasteful.

Q: What are things I can put on a new Black dodge charger to make it look more “flashy” that will help resale val
…and will help resale value down the road

A: Just mex it out to the max!!! chrome, flames down the side, Cr@ppy speakers going bome bome bome .
LOL

Q: Should I get a Dodge Charger or wait till the new Dodge Challenger comes out next year??
Which one would you buy?

A: I would wait till the challanger comes out. It will be worth it plus give you time to save!

Q: Can i afford a Dodge Charger (2006andUP) Military E1?
I will be going to bootcamp soon, Was wondering when i get out since i will be considered an E1 would i be able to affored a used or new Dodge charger, ive seen alot of military personnell riding them. If you bought a car as a military personell what cars in the range or “sports/coupes” could i look at?

A: Being in the military can have huge benignity. Make sure to be in good standings and do your best to be the best you can. If you stay a hard worker and move up you will be able to get almost anything you want.

I can’t see anyone with a decent job and credit score not being able to afford a 2006 Charger, they are only around $10,000.

Q: my neighbors dog comes by and scratches my brand new 2009 dodge charger i need to get it gone what can i do?
thanks i need all the help i can get before i hurt this dog its a pitbull guys you no what im talkin about please help

A: Maybe someone ate hamburgers or some other meat product in your car and some crumbs fell on the floor, got rotten and making him salivate to find it?

Check your car out thoroughly and have it vacuumed and use some spray after to freshen it up.

Tell you neighbor to reimburse you for the cost of repairing the scratches……they should keep their dog away from your property.

Peace

Q: Did Dodge make a mistake with the new Charger?
Their performace is lacking. I don’t consider a sedan to be a muscle car. The interier looks ugly. And they made them even worse by putting Super Bee, Daytona and other decals on them, leave it for the older cars please.

A: Nope, I don’t think so, they sell just fine and are quality relaible vehicles. Some people are stuck in the past and need to live now. So what if its 4 doors.

Q: Opinions on the new 2010 dodge charger?
The thing looks sweet, but i do like my car kinda see the 2010 as its younger brother, and the dukes of hazards charger as the grandpa hahaha
yeah 2011 I meant my bad, hope you guys still got what i meant

A: I’m glad they finally decided to give it an overhaul, it was beginning to look dated. I’d like to see the Daytona version if they put it into production. I can only hope the SRT8 comes with the new 392 Hemi as well.

Q: Volkswagen New Beetle or Dodge Charger?
I am looking at what to get for my first car, and I want to know the pros and cons of each of the VW New Beetle Convertible and the Dodge Charger? I can’t decide between these two, but I want to know which one gets better gas mileage, which one is better for just driving every day, etc. I’m leaning toward the convertible, because I absolutely LOVE convertibles. But, I also like the charger because it is bigger and seems like it’s a little bit more comfortable for all of the people in the car. But I don’t know, what are the pros and cons of each car? I really don’t know anything about cars, so can someone who knows cars or just likes one of these models more then the other, please help me??? Thanks
I live in Arkansas, in the southern area. We don’t get much snow here, if we do it’s about an inch, unless something weird happens with the weather, like the ice storm…which, if that happened, I wouldn’t be going out in it anyways.

A: I have a new beetle. I love my car. Its great on gas, very reliable, and quite the speed demon. I live in upstate New York and it just plows through the snow in the winter. However, if you’re looking at a convertible, you’re going to lose alot of space in the car. I have a regular hatchback, and once the seats are laid down there is a ton of room (the previous owners once transported a sick Alpaca to Tufts University in Boston in the bug).

The other downside to the bug is that its expensive to fix and you might have a hard time finding a non-dealership mechanic to fix your car. That would be the upside about buying a Dodge, is American cars will be cheaper to fix.

Still, I’ll be a VW driver for life.

Hope I helped!

Q: Can I buy vector wheels like these for my new 07 dodge charger in like size 20″?
Like these but bigger.

http://blog.hemmings.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/lastGeneralLee_06_resized.jpg

A: im not sure ,but if you,ll get a hold of this place and talk to them in person they will gout of their way to please a customer, they did find me an odd set of wheels once, good luck, http://tirerack.com

Q: Where can I find a new logo for the ram head on the steering wheel of my ‘06 Dodge Charger?
I am looking to replace the ram head in the center of the steering wheel of my Charger. I know Billet Tech won’t do it because of liability issues, anyone know of anyone who has them? Anything custom would be alright. I have heard of one guy who got a Transformers logo on ebay but I couldn’t find anything. Please help!
I am not looking for the Dodge logo, I want something different. I didn’t have to be the Transformers logo, just something new.

A: for Dodge…

for Transformers…

Q: can i fit 2 large suitcases and a set of golf clubs in a new Dodge Charger?
I will be traveling to Orlando and i want to take my clubs but im not sure if they will fit in the rental car. there will be 2 people in front and one rear passenger

A: why not?

Q: can i fit 2 large suitcases and a set of golf clubs in a new Dodge Charger?
I will be traveling to Orlando and i want to take my clubs but im not sure if they will fit in the rental car. there will be 2 people in front and one rear passenger

A: the chargers have a very ample trunk. I am sure that everything that you want to take will fit. also, all but the SE model of this vehicle have a split rear seat that you can fold down for additional storage if needed.

Q: can i fit 2 large suitcases and a set of golf clubs in a new Dodge Charger?
I will be traveling to Orlando and i want to take my clubs but im not sure if they will fit in the rental car. there will be 2 people in front and one rear passenger

A: You could call the rental car company and ask about the capacity of the trunk (they typically have guidelines on what the cars will hold). You can also ask to see a car at a local rental agency.
Are you going to have a travel bag?( is it a hard or soft case?) In the past I have shipped my clubs to my destination. It’s ranged from $60-$140 (total there and back).
The times I have carried my bag with me I liked to have a bigger car so there were no issues.

Good luck

Q: 2010 Chevy Camaro or new Dodge Charger?
I’m looking to buy a new car in a little while and I was wondering which would be the better buy. I like the looks of both the Charger and the Camaro, but I’m leaning towards the Camaro in the visual department. As far as performance and value, I don’t know which would be the better choice. I like the spaciousness of the Charger, but since the Camaro is a two-door, the back seat is a little smaller, and the trunk space is almost laughable. I don’t really think I’ll need the big trunk space for much now, but I’d like to hold on to the car for a while, maybe after I start a family or something, so then the Charger would (maybe) be a better long-term choice. Then again there is the extra $1,700 per year I’d have to pay as a gas-guzzler tax for the already more expensive Charger (I’d like to get an SRT8 and RT). The other good thing about the Camaro is that the 2SS isn’t that much much more expensive than the other packages, and they’re all pretty good, whereas the Charger goes from “meh” to “WOW” between the packages. So with all this knowledge, and whatever else you may know about these cars, which would you get? Which is more worth getting? Any fan boys/girls out there with some knowledge about past Chargers and Camaros are more than welcome, but none of that “Don’t get the Charger! It’s got 4 doors!” crap, I like the way it looks. That’s a big reason in why I want one. Thanks for your help!

A: i would get the camaro 2SS i think they look pretty cool and the interior is diffrent but in a good way and the charger srt-9 isnt to bad i wouldnt mind having 1 but i would go for the camaro plus the chevy is a lil faster but they should least i hope come out with a 2011 camaro z28 with around 550hp and it will probaly get the 6.2 liter s/c but im hoping for the ls7 but i guess the ls7 is pretty much dead but for the z28 ur be paying more high 40k low 50k’s but i suggest the camaro i own a 87 IROC-Z camaro which is GREAT! also i think the new camaro will help out chevy ALOT with great mileage, fantastic power, and gotta be a steal of a deal at 30k for 426 hp and rlly high torque! the charger srt8 is pretty cool but ill go for the camaro also i think they might start sellin the new camaro TODAY i didnt c the whole thing but on the news there was a dealership with a bunch of new camaros so im thinking they are starting to sell them here in oregon! cant wait to hear 1! i wanna race 1 as soon as i can in my dodge durango

Q: I want a Dodge Charger. Would you recommend? Yes or no?
I am really interested in trading in car for a new dodge charger. i have not driven one yet but they look great and i know they are fast. how about the reliability? are they good vehicles?

A: They’ve gotten pretty good reviews – check with JD power for reliability ratings. Also check Chrysler 300 and Dodge Magnum – same mechanicals but been around a year longer.

Don’t assume Chargers are fast – it depends on the engine.
2.7L V6 only 190 hp, not enough for a car that big – woof woof
3.5 – 250 hp, much better, but still not really fast, just competitive
regular hemi – 340 hp, now you’re talking – will beat most cars out there
SRT 8 hemi – 425 hp, watch out – it doesn’t get much better than this – close to M3 but room for family (and cheaper)

Another reason to avoid the small v6 – not only is it weak, it’s just a 4 speed automatic, others are 5

Q: I just bought a new 2007 dodge charger with the v6 motor and the ac compressor is pretty nosies this normal?

A: Oh you did did you? You could of had a V-8! A/C compressor for that dodge is about $600.00 get it looked at before it breaks and sends metal particals thruout the A/C system. Noisey means swash plate or internal parts are loose or the external clutch bearing is making sounds.

Q: What do you think about the new audi a5 coming up this fall?

A: I generally like Audis. I like them better than BMW and Mercedes. The A5 is no different. Although I still think they are too expensive.

Q: How much is the new Audi A5 & S5 going to be priced around? What engines will they have?

A: According to this months car and driver mag, they have a review of the Audi A5, they expect base MSRP to be $50,900. They did not guess on the S5, but I will….$70-75K.

Q: when will the new audi A5 be available in north america and the price?

A: Im not sure its going to be available in America, im guessing and

im sure it will. but maybe not next year. and it will expensive

Q: Where can i get the song in the new Audi A5 Advert?
i know that its by Dustin 0′Halloran and its unreleased and composed for the advert but i want it! Has anyone found it and downloaded it anywhere?

PLEASE HELP!?!

A: I know this is not the answer you want, but it may prove useful to you anyway.

Dustin O’Halloran has a website at http://www.dustinohalloran.com/ and there is a contact icon there.

In the meantime, until you can find a copy, here’s the link to the commercial on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cMploGeOW0

Sorry not to have been of more help to you.

Q: Which car would you rather drive; the BMW 335i or the new Audi A5?
Two great cars; looking for imput on a future purchase!

A: well i would say a better comparison would be the 335ci and the Audi S5.. not A5.. since the 335ci makes 300HP.. the A5, if used in conjunction with its most powerful V6 available, will probably make around 255HP or so… big difference.

However, I speculate that the S5 will have the same V8 currently available on the S4, which is around 340HP… so in terms of power, it has the advantage.

Plus, its a brand new model and will be a real great treat to own; the pictures i’ve seen so far are spectacular.

As i said, i would really really wait for the S5 as opposed to a regular A5… or, if time and money isnt much of an issue for you, maybe the RS5 would put a bigger smile on your face, with over 400HP..

Good luck!

Q: Does anyone know when the new Audi A5 will hit the market in the U.S?

A: Should be available this fall. Looks like you may be able to order now.

Q: whats the name of the track on the new audi a5 advert?

A: This is ‘Prelude 2′ by recording artist and film composer Dustin O’Halloran, who also did the score for Sofia Coppola’s ‘Marie Antoinette’ . It’s on i-Tunes here:

http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?playlistId=257130211&s=143444&i=257130226

Q: Anyone seen the new Audi A5?
Do you think it’s a worthy competitor to the 3 series coupe? Audi is not a name you’d think of when you hear “coupe.” What’s your opinion on the A5? If you haven’t seen it, go to caranddriver.com.

A: Yes I’ve seen some photos of the A5. It is a nice coupé, looks like a BMW 3 series from behind. Audi used to do legendary coupés, like the famous Audi Coupé Quattro in the 80ies…The rally version, Audi Quattro Group B, was a fantastic racing machine…

Q: Piano music to the new Audi A5 ad?
Anyone know what it is called? I know it is specially composed but I would be really interested in finding out if I can get a copy of it.

Can anyone recommend a CD that has all that type of piano pieces on it that I can buy?

I wish I had the subtitles on at the time – they usually give the title and composer on it….

A: The artist is dustin o’halloran. You can buy more of his work here:

http://www.bellaunion.com/news.php?news_id=2007510174554029

Q: when will the all-new audi A5 be released?

A: The Audi A5 debuted in 2007, so do not expect to see an all-new model until around 2014. It might be launched alongside with the all-new Audi A4 as well.
A facelifted version might surface around 2012, although there are no rumours about this or the Audi A4.

Q: what is the piano music to the new audi a5 advert in the uk?

A: The music was composed just for the advert…

Dustin O’Halloran ’s piano music features in the new animated Audi commercial…

News of Dustin O’Halloran’s beautiful piano music continues to spread…last year he completed a score for Sophia Coppola’s film ‘Marie Antoinette’ and this year he has created a special piece of music used in the the new Audi advert. The advert is purely music and animation and is set to be beautiful so watch out for it on U.K television soon…

In the mean time, Dustin’s most recent album ‘Piano Solos 2′ can be purchased here :

Q: Does the new Audi A5 ad music make you feel all melty inside?

A: I don’t know about ‘melty’ but it certainly has ‘a feel good factor’ about it… !! ..xx

Q: Piano music on the new Audi A5 ad?
Anyone know what it is called? I know it is specially composed but I would be really interested in finding out if I can get a copy of it.

Thanks to all who have replied so far – still not got there yet….

A: It was specifically created for the ad – anything you read to the contrary is incorrect.

Q: I need to rent an Audi A5 for my wedding…?
My fiancee adores the new Audi A5 so I want to surprise him with renting one as the “get away car” for our wedding in November 08. Is there anywhere I can rent one in Denver or is it still too new to be avaiable for rental?? Help!!!

A: Try the dealer, but I can tell you this, no commercial rental agency will have one. If you play your cards right, maybe one of the sales staff, or management will have one as a demo. However, they will probably want to sell it to you. Explain your situation, and maybe they will be generous.

Q: ok im looking for a new car , i fancy a audi a5 3litre v6 diesle is it eny good i not like bmw or mercs?
whot other opption do i have , im looking for comfort and good quality and reliabilty but not petrol only diesle power

A: I drove S5’s at an Audi Experience Day in Silverstone only the other week and found it a fantastic car to drive. Although this was a more powerful version than the 3 litre diesel I do know from test driving one at my local dealership that it is a great motor.

Find more great information about the New Cadillac CTS at your number one automotive source: TunedTech.ca

Q: Can I put a 2009 cadillac cts engine in my 2003 version?
I have 100,000 miles on the enigne and every once in awhile the engine seems to start to smoke. i also would like a new engine so it can actually go faster thn i already goes
also will my cars mileage get resetted for changing the engine?

A: it would be easier to do a chevy 350 swap

Q: Rims on a cadillac CTS???
hey I am 18 and bought my self a new CTS i have the money for the rims, but I am not sure if i should gte them, what does everybody think?

A: There are many options out there for you to choose from. Keep in mind that larger rims will require lower profile tires which will mean a slightly rougher ride. Also putting non GM wheels on may void warranty and throw off your speedometer.

Q: Need honest opinion about 09 Cadillac CTS All Wheel Drive versus Rear Wheel Drive???
Hello!
I am looking to purchase a new CTS. However, I am undecided about what transmission I should get?! I travel a lot and in the winter will be traveling in the snow. The dealer told me the RWD would be fine in the snow due to the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system they now have. He said the AWD version is just basically a fancy ABS system. Does anyone out there have a CTS with the RWD?? Please let me know how it drives in the snow…I need an expert opinion! Thank you very much to taking the time to read and respond to my questions!

A: RWD cars cannot drive in snow even with traction control.
You will not be able to move the car at all.

RWD cars are impossible to drive in snow and slippery in rain evern with stability control or traction control.

You need AWD. AWD is when all 4 wheels are powered by the engine.

ABS is when you step on the brakes and they lock up. ABS keeps them from locking up., but it will not help in snow.

Q: Camaro vs. Cadillac CTS Coupe, Which one?
i’m 17 right now and i know my choices will change within the next year but right now i’m really focused on the new CAMARO and the Cadillac CTS Coupe but i have 2 problems.
1) i can’t get my car until my birthday(long story) which is at the end of next year.
2) the Cadillac CTS Coupe don’t come out until about the middle of next year so it may b 2 high but i don’t care……..
anyways…..What should i pick?????
THe NEW CAMARO not the old one…..personally i think the old one is ugly but i call the new one a ” Upgraded Mustang”

A: You realize that GM’s bankrupt, right? The Camaro will likely still come out, but don’t hold your breath for the CTS coupe. This being said, they’re both essentially gonna be the same car. If your goal is performance, the Camaro is the obvious choice. It’s gonna weigh less, and have the same or more power. If you’re more into impressing your friends or whatever, maybe the Caddy is the way to go.

Of course, if you really wanna go fast, your money would be better spent on an older car. You should see the looks my buddy gets from middle-aged Corvette Z-06 owners when he rips them a new one in his ‘86 Camaro with peeling paint. Hehehe…

Q: Why is the Cadillac CTS-V based on the old CTS body?
Why not the new better looking one?

A: They spent years making the CTS-V.
They started working on it before they made the new design.

Q: What type of car would an American James Bond drive?
I think it would be a new cadillac cts coupe in cts-v form of course. what do you think though?

A: Ford GT

Q: Song from a Cadillac Commercial?
Its from the new Cadillac CTS commercial.
Its just plays the same guitar sound (at the end it sounds like the guitarist is bending the string to change the pitch)

Sorry I dont really know how to explain it.
But answers about the song and who the artist is would be appreciated.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1029Zm9j_hM&feature=related

thats the song im looking for.
the commercial stars kate walsh i guess.

A: i think it is “stars” by Hum
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urW9aQNwX34
hope it helps

Q: Can i but a diffrent Grill on my Cadillac CTS 2003?
I want a Cadillac CTS Grill But from a newer model.

MIne is like This

I wanna know if i can put something like this?

wide selection here.

Q: I need help with my new car! Please?!?
what would be the best thing to do for blue neon lights UNDER my new Cadillac CTS?

I really want some, but i can’t figure out what kind of lights I should get..

HELP!! PLEASE!?!

A: pick up the neon tubes for a auto parts store, or wherver you want, hook those up, then go to radio shack and buy a flip switch to control them of when you want them to turn on and off, then screw it under your dash, or on your main head dash. should be a sweet hook up, although ive never dealt with neons, so i couldnt tell you how to hook em up, but im sure they probably just hook onto your battery or somewhere.

Q: My 2005 Cadillac CTS check engine light comes on sometimes, what could be the problem?.?
My car has approximately 60,000 miles. My mechanic put the computer on it but could not get a good read because the check engine light does not stay on. When it does come on, the car shakes a little bit. It suggests it could be fuel injectors. A month ago when this happened, it was the oxygen sensor. What could this new problem be?

A: my answer is try to check it out first on auto repair shop…

Q: What is the song playing during 2010 Cadillac CTS Sedan commercial?
It has a couple going in a building and looking around to what appears to be a museum featuring the new car. In the end they walk outside and smile when they see their new car.
It was more of a piano. It wasn’t 1901. That was a different commercial.

A: That song I believe, is called “1901″ by Phoenix. They’re a French band.

Q: In the market for a new car….Thoughts? Maxima, CTS, Camry. G35?
Well, im looking for a new car at the moment and have some one looking at car auctions in Detroit for me. Originally I was going to go for something more conventional a Camry, but with this recall Toyota is having who knows when i will be able to get one, and id rather not be driving around a vehicle that could potentially cause a crash. So I know my other choices are a whole nother league of cars lol…but I have 20,000 i want to spend….so my choices are a 2009 Nissan Maxima ( I had an 04 maxima and totaled it a little over a year ago) a 2008 Cadillac CTS (ive heard amazing things, but ive also heard repairs can be quite expensive and everything in the cabin of the car squeeks a lot? maybe im wrong) and a 2007 Infinti G35( I have also heard amazing things about this car)

So before I talk to other people what are your thoughts on these cars? Personal experiences? Repair costs? Gas Mileage? and I know this might be out of reach but can anyone give me some thoughts on the insurance costs for these cars? Im almost 21 and have 1 3 point ticket on my record which will be off when I turn 21. But I wont be paying for my own insurance until im 22. So if its possible give me some thought on that? Thanks a ton, I know its rather lengthy!

A: I would not purchase any of these vehicles if you are under 21.
Your insurance will be insane, especially with points on your license, and it isn’t worth buying a status car that could jeopardize your potential future when you add maintenance cost plus payment amounts.

The Camry would have been ok, but I wouldn’t trust it, now.

How about a Honda Accord?

Q: Cadillac CTS vs Infiniti G35?
i am interested in buying a new car but i cant decide between the Cadillac CTS and Infiniti G35(coupe). I like that the cadillac has 5 seats compared to the infiniti which only has 4 seats. The deciding factors are which one looks better and which car is more reliable (performance). Ive always liked sports cars and the infiniti is a sports car but ive wanted a cadillac my whole life unfortunately they dont make cadillac sports cars which more than 2 seats and i need a car with at least 4 seats but i prefer 5. I think they take up the same amount of gas but if one takes up less than the other than thats also a deciding factor. so which car is better the cadillac or the infiniti??

A: G35. The Infiniti is a Nissan. Therefore it is Japanese design and construction. Reliability and efficiency are the trademarks of Japanese vehicles whether the Toyota or the Lexus, or in this case the Nissan or the Infiniti.
The Infiniti G35 has a new design and has one of the most attractive looks for all sedans and coupes sold in America. The CTS is nice but does not compare in classiness. G35

Q: what do you say to a girl in this situation?
this really hot girl wants me at work. she has told everyone but me that she wants me and jokes around mentioning kids n shit. she is already dating someone, but he is loaded, he just bought her a new cadillac cts.
it seems very awkward in situations when we both know that she likes me. i just dont know what to say to her. i dont believe in banging a chick who already has a man.
how do i talk to her and keep my work environment normal?

A: Stay away from her. do not let a women mess up a work environment. If she does get the nerve to tell you how she feels and after she has broken up with her sugar daddy and if your work allows dating then you can consider going out with the hot girl.

Q: I am now considering about buying a Cadillac CTS.?
What do you think, I want to buy a cadillac cts but i have heard that they are piece of sh*t. I want to know if that is true? Well I am confussed. I want to buy a car that is like nice but not like expensive like above 35,000. And of course I am not talking about a new car but a used car. What should i get? What do you recommend me? And the car years would be like 2003-up.

A: DON’T BUY A CADDY!!! Trust me! I have had three Cadillacs, and they are by far the nicest, most luxurious cars on the road with the best ride and performance, BUT, they are pieces of shit. I had so many headaches with my Cadillacs, because they have so many engineering flaws. I know other people with the same problems. I find it hard to beleive that those problems have gone away for the 2006 model year. You’re much better off buying a Lexus or an Acura.. they’re not as nice as the Cadillac, but much more reliable.

Here are the Cadillacs that I’ve had, and their relaibility issues:

1983 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham – had a well-known poor designed engine that would blow easily. The air ride broke so I had to keep filling it with air manually weekly in an air fill that I addded. Additionally, every other little thing broke in it all the time.

1979 Cadillac Eldorado- Well known major design flaw in the fuel injection and computer system. The car constantly would break down. I sold it to some kid and he replaced the computer and fuel injectors with a carburator, and then it finally ran ok. Plus lots of electrical problems and other little reliability issues too.

1994 Cadillac Sedan Deville – My head gasket leaked air into the system, causing the heater core to have bubbles in it, causing no heat. This happened multiple times before we figured out what was wrong, and it was going to cost almost $2,000 to fix. This is a well known common problem with these cars. I also had oil leak and oil burning problems. Although this car had less general reliability issues than my other two, it still had more than an expensive car should.

Bottom line – Cadillacs have gotten better than they used to be, reliability wise, but they still have their share of issues that Japanese luxury cars don’t. I was going to trade my 94 Caddy in for a 2001 Deville, but my friend at the Cadillac dealer told me that they have a pistion problem where the pistions aren’t 100% big enough (by a microscopic amount) that causes them to burn a few quarts of oil between oil changes because oil leaks through.

Q: wrx sti???
i am in the market for a new vehicle and i have been looking and finally found a 02 wrx i know that it is all wheel drive and turbo charged but i was wanting to know if there was any drivers out there and what they thought of the car??
thanks

A: wrx sti awsome can prefer the 99′ model though really good car

Q: Is there a difference between an STI and a WRX STI?
I like to think of myself as somewhat of a Subaru enthusiast and I wasn’t aware there was a difference but some know it all kid at my work swears up and down that there is a WRX, WRX STI and a plain STI.

A: It’s WRX and STI, the STI was originally WRX STI. There’s no WRX, STI, and WRX STI. As I mention earlier the WRX STI was just renamed to STI.

The STI is the is the highest standard-edition trim.

Here’s a comparison between the two:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LZR7Svawe4

Q: What is the cost when fixing a knock in 1997 Impreza WRX STi?
Hi,

What does it mean when a 97′ wrx sti engine has a knock (piston slap)?

and what is involved in fixing it? what needs replacing etc?

A: It all depends on what’s knocking. Piston slap is caused by the piston wrist pin or the rod bearings being worn. That means that the head, exhaust manifold and pan will have to come off the engine to fix it. The cost varies on where you take it to be fixed.

Q: What are the main differences between a WRX and WRX STI engine?
could you add/swapout parts to make a plain WRX engine more like the STI?

A: It sort of depends on the years you are talking about but the difference between the GD body style WRX/STI are mainly in the heads and turbo. The STI has better flowing heads with AVCS where the WRX does not. The older 2 liter WRX short blocks had a smaller bore but otherwise were pretty similar and the newer 2.5ltr short blocks are pretty much identical to the STI ones. The WRX used the same TD04 turbo through out the models and still use a variant of it in the new models. The sti started out with the VF39 and then the VF43 in 07 to combat some boost creep issues but they were the same size.Other small differences were the red intake manifold, bigger intercooler with the STI logo, and catless up pipe. Just about anything is interchangeable between the two. Making STI power with a WRX is very easy but the WRX does have a weaker tranny so you have to be careful how you drive.

Q: How much does the subura impreza wrx sti spec c type ra cost?
should i just get the sti or the wrx or this type ra, what would it run me$, i like hte look of the 05-07 sti not the ugly hatchback. so any advice

A: it depends on how many miles and what condition it is in. But you can plan on spending anywhere from a 05 $16- 07 $27k.

Q: Which is faster between a 2009 nissan maxima and a 2009 wrx sti?
How about between a 2002 nissan maxima and a 2005 wrx sti?

A: Definately the STi. The car is rally bred, and that flat 4 turbocharged engine really can do a number on you. The Maxima wasn’t made to perform in a ’sports car’ way. These two cars are in completely different car classes.

Q: whats the difference between impreza wrx and wrx sti?
im 16 so im getting my first car and im financing it. what should i get subaru impreza wrx or subaru wrx sti. whats the difference betwwen them. they look the same but how much better is the engine in the sti.

A: The STI has a 6 speed trans instead of 5. It also has WAY more horsepower. If money isnt a problem, i’d say go with the STI. Because insurance is going to be alot higher, especially since you’re only 16.

Q: How good are the 2005 wrxs and wrx sti?
I want to get a 2005 wrx or wrx sti but my brother says its not a good car because JD powers gave it a bad rating can anyone show me or tell me why its a good idea to get this car.

A: I don’t rely on JD Power Ratings, I read customer reviews. In my own opinion, I think the WRX is a great car indeed!

Q: how much would labor cost for installing upgraded internals on wrx sti?
wondering how much it would cost for new internals on wrx sti and how much it would cost to have them installed so that I can put a bigger turbo in the future.

A: How big a turbo are you looking to go with? A stock STI engine can handle up to about 400WHP with a good tune for quite a while. And that’s more power than 99% of the people out there can take full advantage of. Something like 350 with a 20G or something similar is easy on the engine if the tune is good. If you still want to upgrade, it depends on how much of the internals you want to change. Really, the pistons are about the only thing you need to change for a good upgrade. So something like $600 for some CP or Mahle forged pistons, $200 for some new bearings, $200 for new gaskets and other things that might need to be replaces, and then probably another $2000 for the removal, machining, build and replacing of the engine. Or you could buy a built short block for about $2500 from some place like Raw1 Performance or Crawford and then maybe $1000 for the removal and replacement of the short block. But it will vary from shop to shop so I would contact a reputable tuner near you, talk to him about what you are trying to accomplish and go from there.

Q: How to identify a genuine 1994-1998 WRX STi?
The 1995 WRX STi i am looking at does not have a red intake manifold. It is badged STi.

A: Look at the VIN. The first three characters should be JF1. If the following three digits after that are not either GC8, GM8, or GF8, it is not a real STI.

Q: What would be the differences between a Subaru Impreza Wrx sti (2002) and a wrx (non sti, 2003)?
Mainly performance wise, how pronounced would the difference be between an sti and a wrx? ie 0-100 kmh times and cornering ability? i’m looking to upgrade from my lancer 2006 es and want a pronounced difference in ability.

A: I own a 2002 WRX which is the same thing as the 2003. I also live in America and we didnt have the STI in 2002, but im pretty sure the 02 STI comes with around 271hp. Handling wise, the STI has always been an upgrade over the WRX, and STI’s have always been known for their track car like handling. If you do decide to just get the WRX though, I will say that you will not be disappointed. It may not be an STI, but for the price, I dare you to show me a car with a better combination of power and handling. You cant go wrong with either of them, but if you have the money or are planning to track it, go for the STi.

Q: How good are rebuilt, used Subaru Impreza WRX STi?
Hi,

Im looking to buy a used WRX STi around the year 1995-1998

What is a rebuilt engine good to last for?

A: Well, as far as I know, they only started importing STi’s to the states in 2004, so its sounds like you are SOL, unless you want to import one from another region or live in another region where they produced STis. If you can find one, I would suggest a coupe STi. They weigh significantly less than other chassis, and they don’t contain most of the electronic “gimmickry” that the later models contain, providing easier personal serviceability, and also limiting the number of components to fail.

Q: Why does the WRX STI doesnt have front LSD ?
isnt it important to have front LSD to avoid understeer? why does the subaru wrx sti doesnt have it ? (GC8)

(I mean is it purposely made it unavailable due to some reason?)

Thanks in advance!

A: Because they feel an open differential is good enough. its also cheaper. A lot of cars and trucks have open diffs.

Q: Would it be better to buy an 05 wrx and build it up or just buy the 05 wrx sti?
I wanna get an 05 impreza wrx or sti but I don’t know if it would be better to buy the wrx and sink the extra money into the motor or buy the sti. I can put more power into the sti in time but is it worth the extra money. Please let me know. Thank you

A: A bullet proof 6 speed and the Brembo brakes is worth way more than the price difference between the two. In the end, it really depends on what you want the car for and how far you will take the “fixing up”.

Q: What are some easy modifications i can buy to increase the performance of my Wrx sti?
= so wat can i buy to increase the power on my sti, like acceleration, horsepower, torque and more… plz i need a lot///give me everything from blowoff valve to turbos… list everthing plzzzz cause i want my sti to reach bout 400-450 horsepower maxx…thanks

A: A BOV will not add horsepower and usually offers more bad than good to your motor. I recommend you look into stage 3 parts and a much larger turbo, transmission and a good engine management system followed by a good tuner.

Q: Will a 1966 Ford Mustang transmission work in a 1965?
I can’t seem to find a transmission for a 1965 Ford Mustang that I am looking to fix up. I have been to a lot of websites that only have 1966 and up. Please help! (Transmission is a 3-speed.)

A: brandon, the early mustangs, [called 64 1/2's] usually have a different bolt pattern on the motor and tranny than the later 65’s and will not interchange. the best way to tell the difference between the two is by the fifth digit on the vin. all 65 1/2’s will have a “d,” “f,” or “u”. and the later 65’s will have an “a,” “c”, and “t.” the famous “hypo” has a “k” and the only sure way to tell is look at it. another thing to consider is that the 65 trannys were not synchronized, or they would grind going into gear and you could not down shift. try to find a 66 tranny or later because they are all synchronized. the old three speed trannys usually have 4 bolts on the top plate, [that's why they are called top loaders] while the better ones have 9, so they are easy to spot and look almost like a 4 speed. however a 4 speed has 3 large protrusions on the side of the case while the 3 speed has only 2. its where the linkage attaches. stay within your motor group and be sure to check the input shaft for correct size and length before installation. good luck bro.

Q: What Disk Brakes Fit a 1966 Ford Mustang?
Hi i was wondering what cars can i take the disk brakes and put on my 1966 ford mustang, right now i have drums on it and really need to change it, please tell me the year make and model that will fit, will maverick brakes work, thank you!!

A: The 66 Mustang did have the disc brake option, so you can find a used set on ebay or salvage yard.. for more options check out this group..

Q: Where can i buy a 1966 ford mustang?
I live in el paso, and i want to buy a 66 mustang but cannot find anywhere near. Does Anyone know any sites/places near the el paso/las cruses area?

A: Not off hand, but here are a few places on the internet to check, try www.hemmings.com, this is a old car magazine with deep world wide roots that has been around forever, and has links that are a car lovers dream, They have an online website where last months ads are free, and thousands of links to anything car related, You can sign up for the online magazine for a few bucks, or pay a few dollars more, and get the hard copy mailed to your house. This is where I would go FIRST, when looking for anything old car related. Also check autotrader classics.com there should be some 66 mustangs for sale there too. I did a quick check at hemmings motor news, and there were 71 66 mustangs for sale, so hopefully you can find the one that fits your dreams. best of luck.

Q: 1966 ford mustang is it possible to chang a coupe to a fastback?
ok so after looking a thte frame and all that stuff i was wondering if is possible to make a coupe to a fastback. the frame looks like it would be able to just make once you buy the different parts such as the new quarter panels and windsheil and roof and new truck. does this sounds like it can be done?

A: while you can change a coupe to a fastback, the amount of work, and the investment of parts needed will far exceed the value of the resulting car. it would be far less expensive, to make a convertible out of a coupe.

Q: Is a 1966 ford mustang expensive to maintain?
I mean, more to maintain then an another average car. And its already in great condition and low miles.

Out of curiousity, how would it be in maintence if it had about 99,000 miles?
i would like to use it as a daily car by the way! so what do you think?

A: That is a very reliable car. The original Mustangs were meant to be cheap, reliable and fun transportation. Most everything on the car can be maintained with basic hand tools and with a basic understanding of cars. I would recommend buying a Haynes manual or service manual for it. This will walk you through the processes necessary to maintain it and keep it in driving order. Classic cars can be great, reliable transportation if you know how to maintain them. Just remember parts(especially wear items like bearings, joints, etc.) are going to be quite old by this point and to replace them may be harder then just finding someone to pay to do it. Some parts can not be replaced without either making new ones or finding used ones and refurbishing them.

Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Q: How do you put on the emblems for a 1966 Ford Mustang?
Do I just put the emblem adhesive on the back of the emblem or is there a part I need to put on it instead?
The emblems have small pieces that stick out of the back of the emblems. Do I have to drill holes in my mustang or do I just apply the Emblem Adhesive?

A: Larry’s right…older cars with studs coming out of the back side of the emblem had holes drilled in the sheet metal to the same stud pattern. They either used barrel clips which are small tubular clips that push in the hole and they have tiny little fingers that grip the hole and the studs on the emblems. Some emblems with larger studs used self threading nuts that held onto the studs from behind the sheetmetal. If you choose to, you can carefully snap off the studs and apply them with double faced tape made for that purpose although it’s not correct. Just make sure they’re in the right spot on the car and level.

Q: Anyone know of a 1965 or 1966 Ford mustang fastback with a motor and transmission in unrestored condition?
are they easy to find, where in North America is the best place to look for them?

A: I’d say Hemming motor news, what size? You can always browse E bay, they have quite a few.

Q: How much would it cost to make an automatic transmission 1966 Ford Mustang into a manual transmission?

A: details, details, details, are you doing the labor or paying someone else? figure $2000 for parts and at least $500 for labor, you could save using used parts..

Q: Which radio should I install into my 1966 Ford Mustang?
I have three options: stock radio with a glove box radio, a retrosound, or custom autosound radio. My current AM stock radio does not work. I really like retrosound’s fit and features, but I am afraid the modern looks will kill the classic style I am trying to maintain. And the Custom Autosound has he look, I have read surprisingly poor reviews. Ultimately I do not want to cut into the car, and I want original looking metal knobs, any help will be appreciated.

A: factory options, i hate a classic car like this gets a ricer make over, back in the day it wasnt about a freakin fancy chrome radio or shit, it was performance. do the stang a favor and put all factory options back in. only modern parts you need is, maybe a carpet, modifications, tires.

Q: I have a 1966 Ford Mustang with a 289 V6 engine in it and I want to upgrade. Whats the biggest engine I fit?
How much would it cost?
Where is the best place to find them?

A: the only thing that will fit are the small block Windsors, 260,289, 302 and the 351, the last 2 were not offered in that body style but are later versions of the same engine so they will fit with a minimum of problems.. oh and they are all V8’s.. there was no V6 offered.. they do make stroker kits, for 302 – 331 and 347, and for 351 – 408 and up to 427 ci..

The larger Clevelands and Lima 460 require a complete front suspension change over, lots of work..

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=ford+302+stroker&ygmasrchbtn=web+search&fr=ush-ans

Q: Can I get OnStar in a 1966 Ford Mustang?
I really want that car, but my mom won’t let me get a car without OnStar. I know that OnStar only works with Fords and this is a Ford…

A: I don’t think OnStar can be added to older vehicles. If you bought it from a Ford dealer, then perhaps it could be fitted, but they don’t deal with collectibles like ‘66 Mustangs.

There are other similar systems available, probably. Find out what aspects of the OnStar system you “need” and see if you can purchase something like it from an after-market supplier, but as far as OnStar itself … no, not available retroactively.

Q: Can i Restore a 1966 Ford Mustang?
I’m 17 and i really want to restore a 1966 Mustang. I feel like if i do this, it will give me a huge confidence boost. I love mustangs. Can i do it?

A: You can if…you learn all the trades necessary, welding, body work, upholstery, paint and assemble…do you have a old Mustang? Do you have the money for materials and parts? if the answer is yes to all these questions, then Yes, you can do it…

Q: How much does a 1966 Ford Mustang sell for??
The body and trans need a little work but the engine is in very good condition. what price do you think I can sell it for?
The body and trans need a little work but the engine is in very good condition. what price do you think I can sell it for? It’’s a coupe, straight 6 engine, never been wrecked. Body has a few rust spots 2 of which ate through both about the size of a fist. Automatic. I’m not the original owner and I love in south texas
I meant to put I live* in south texas

A: Check with a local Ford dealership. They should have the “Blue Book” value. Since a ‘66 is considered a classic they should have additional info depending on the condition of the car. “Classic Car” magazine has info as well.

Q: How much would a 1966 Ford Mustang sell for?
it has original paint (yellow) and parts, basically my grandpa bought it in 66 and hes had it and taken care of it ever since, so its in pretty decent shape
oh and its a manual transmission if that makes a difference

A: Not enough information to give an accurate appraisal of this car.

Sounds like what i would call an unrestored survivor.

Color means nothing.

Miles make little difference on a car this old unless it has ridiculously low miles, like less than 20,000 documented miles.

A plain 66 Mustang is worth between $7500 – $15,000 for one that is in decent but not show car condition.

If it is a GT the value is between $11,000 – $19,000 for one that is in decent but not show car condition.

Add 7% for a 4 speed manual transmission
Deduct 5% for a 3 speed manual transmission

See the links below to get a better idea of the value of this car.

The third link explains the condition codes. Be honest with yourself when evaluating the condition of a vehicle. it is a very common mistake for someone to state that their baby is in better condition than it actually is. Any serious buyer will quickly spot this and walk away.

The ultimate value of this Mustang is the size of the check that someone would be willing to write you for it.

Q: How much does a 1966 ford mustang shelby corba cost?

A: 66 Mustang Shelby’s in mint condition, matching numbers etc. are going from about $125,000.00 us and UP!!!!!
They are one of the most in demand cars for collectors and ALL mid 60’s muscle cars are in demand and selling for huge $.
Check out the Barrett Jackson web site it will show cars, and their recent selling prices.

A: 15-16 im city
24-27 highway
i looked into it casue i want a 2004 ford F150 XLT

Q: What should I buy, a new f-150 Supercrew or Silverado Crew Lt?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Does anyone know if ford makes the new f-150 raptor in a supercrew or a supercab and if they will make one?

A: F-150 SVT Raptor will only be offered as a SuperCab 4×4, 133″ wheelbase with 5.5′ box. All F-150 SVT Raptors will come standard with the following content:

And much more

Q: Classic RX-7 or new F-150?
I have a Classic (first generation) Mazda RX-7, fully restored and a new Ford F-150, loaded but stock. If I were to pick you up for a date, which one should I bring?
Why?

A: Depends what kind of girl and where you really want it to go? I would love a new F-150 myself. RX is gonna look like you’re a little wild/crazy, likes to have fun guy. The truck seems to make you look a little more laid back and cool. LoL

Q: is there warranty on foglights for a brand new F-150?
it only has 4,500 miles on it and one foglight is already brunt out. Just curious if I can exchange for a new one…

A: yes things like this are covered for 1 year or 12,000 miles after that they are considered wear and tear or maintenance items.

Q: What would be better for me to get, lifted f-150 or a new f-250?

A: It depends on what you want from it. If you’re going for looks, the F150 is the way to go.. it’s a basic half-ton truck for everyday driving, and there are lots of cool things you can add to dress it up more.
If you have some serious work to do, i.e. hauling, plowing, or towing, then go with the F250.. everything is designed for that purpose – it has a larger engine, axles, suspension, transmission, and brakes. The F250 can handle loads that would bring a F150 to it’s knees. Just fair warning.. when something does wear out on an F250, it will that much more expensive to fix, becuase the parts are much bigger, and harder to install.

Q: Are there any advantages or disadvantages to adding Flowmasters to my brand new 2006 F-150 Pick-Up?

A: and they sound good too

Q: When will the new 09 Ford F-150 will be available?
I think the new model is great, I want to know when it will be available and also the starting price. Thank you.

A: Ordering guides & pricing are not availeble yet.
Dealers will start to get ordering info in late summer & the new model will be out on dealer lots in the fall.
You are welcome to stay in touch with me for updates, by emailing me via the link from my profile page.

I am a consultant at a Ford Dealer, & just got my first ‘in person’ look at the 2009 at the Chicago Auto Show 2 days ago.
It is an impressive new design & just goes to show how hard Ford is working to keep the truck leadership that it has enjoyed for the past 31 years.
They will not sit on their laurels when it comes to trucks!
They always stay a step (or 2) ahead of the rest.

Q: What are the recent problems with the new Ford F 150’s?
I have heard tha a few people had 2 replace thier fuel pumps a few months after but I was wondering if their was any more

A: At our dealer the only problems that have come up were the left rear ABS sensor which i believe became a TSB or recall.

Also haveing allot of transmission shift problems but there is a message to reprogram the TCM (traction controll module) to fix this, this has worked on 95 % of them but we are still getting some that the problem comes back.

We have never had one with a water leak like the person above said but it seems like depending on were you live there are different problems based on were it was built etc

Q: I have a 1990 ford f-150 needs new rocker arm cover gaskets?
My ford truck is leaking oil i was told to replace the rocker arm cover gaskets .I was going to do it myself but I dont know how to remove my fuel injection. Is it easy ? Can I screw it up?

A: Well, you didn’t tell us which engine you have so I’ll have to give you generic advice. You do not have to remove the fuel injectors. But you may have to remove the upper intake plenum. It’s not as scary as it looks. Disconnect the duct from the air cleaner. Remove the throttle cables. Disconnect the EGR tube (if you have one). Then remove the bolts that hold the plenum in place. Don’t forget the tiny TORX bolt inbetween the runners. You will need a bolt tightening diagram, a torque wrench, and a new gasket to put the plenum back together.

Q: I can’t stop drooling over the new F-150 Raptor….?
Wow, this truck makes you wanna sell ur house and live in one of them… Does anybody else find this truck as attractive as i do? DAMN!

A: Yep, they’re pretty sweet. Sat in a regular extended cab F150 just to see if I could fit the kids in there if I decide that its the next truck on the list.

Q: How much would 4 new tires on a 2007 F-150 cost me?
My husband has an extended cab 2007 F-150 and we are looking for the best tire and labor deal here in Indy. Does anybody know how much all four would be and labor and who you know would best do it? Thanks!

A: $600-$900 plus an alignment if needed.

Q: what is the cheapest way of getting a 91 camaro to 350 hp?
this might be too much of a generalized question, but i own a 91 camaro RS and would like to turn it into a kickass muscle car. i currently have 275 hp and would like to try to get ti to 350 at least. does anyone have any ideas?
in response to bolting in a bigger crate engine, right now its got the 305 in it and it is a v-8 which i forgot to mention. however would it be worth getting the 350 in?

A: A 100 shot of Nitrous. The Cheapest way to get to 350hp to the wheels.

Q: What is a good gift to give a mustang/camaro fan?
My fiance is a major Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro fan. What is a good gift to give him for his birthday/Christmas? I don’t really know what a good collectors item would be.
He already has a Ford Mustang and a Camaro that he is rebuilding.

A: buy him a ford mustang or a camaro.

Q: How can I get more horsepower out of my Camaro?
I own a 1982 Camaro. Stock 305, four Barrel Carb. Runs like new, pretty descent power. What bolt on things would be beneficial to my car? Would a new carb, intake manifold, and headers add noticeable power? How big of a difference would a mild cam make? And no, I will not pull the engine.

A: Um, Tourque helps you on corner exit but anyway…

Swapping to a 350 would be your best option, but the mods you suggest would be a noticable improvement. Still wouldnt run 14s though, and personally Id have a hard time justifiying the effort/expense.

Id get a newer Fbody. The LT1 runs 13s stock, and they are getting cheap now. Hell, even the 3.8s will outgun your 305

Q: What kind of gas mileage would a ProCharged LS1 Camaro get on the highway?
I’ve got a 2000 Camaro Z28 and I was just thinking of modifications to put on it. I thought of the ProCharger. It’s easy to install, good horsepower gains, and looks very good, but I don’t know how much it will hurt my mpg.

A: You won’t notice any gas mileage difference unless you keep your foot in it. I have a big block Malibu with a B&M supercharger on it, and it actually gets decent gas mileage, but when you lay into it, it comes to life, and forget about mileage.

Q: What features are in a z28 camaro that aren’t in a ’standard’ camaro?
I am looking at 4th Generation camaros (94-02) and cannot figure out what features are in the z28 that are not in a ‘normal’ camaro. Specifically 98-02 camaros. Is it worth make sure I have a z28 or do all camaros during that time period pretty much rock?

A: V8 POWER! dual exhaust and probably bigger rear axle.

Q: How much paint would i need to paint a camaro?
I have a silver ‘96 Camaro Convertible with a white door. I want to paint it this color :
http://www.paintforcars.com/alp_aquapearl.html
how many gallons would I need for a good quality job?

A: Go with Turbs

Q: Who would win in a race straight and curved track a mercedes slk or 2010 camaro?
If the slk and a turbo i think it would still lose. im doing this poll to prove my Friend wrong. he claims that a Camaro with a blower, cool air intake and NOS He thinks his slk 350 would still win.

A: curved track, id give it to the slk. drag, id give it to the camaro

Q: How do you put a toggle switch on a 350 th tranny in a 1980 camaro?
I bout the camaro and tranny seperate and the tranny that came out was not a lock up. But the new one is i know theres a way to hook up a toggle switch but How? Any help is awesome?

A: If you have three wires : purple – hot from brake light switch .
dark green : high gear switch [ not needed ]
tan / black – you want to put this wire to ground ,that’s it .
When the transmission comes to temperature you will get lock up after 2/3 shift . MAKE SURE the TV cable is properly adjusted if not the transmission will not live long , check with a pressure gauge at both open and closed throttle .

Q: How much would it cost to cut of and reweld a control arm on a Camaro?
I bought this camaro. Im in a bad spot and wondering whether or not I should sell this car. Put the car on a lift and saw that the control arm had broke of and they re-welded it in the wrong spot. Just wondering if anyone has ever dealt with something like that and how much it cost.

A: just buy a new control arm and install it, you didn’t say what year your camaro is but the aftermarket is full of camaro parts and not that expensive because it’s such a popular car.

Q: why does my 2001 camaro turn signals dont work in the front?
I have a 2001 chevy camaro v6 and my turn signals don’t work well. I have to move the turn signal up and down to give it a flash that i want to turn right or left. If I try to turn the signal to make a right, it doesnt blink or make any noise. Also my front signals don’t work. The only time it makes the flashing signal without me forcing it is when i turn on the emergency lights. The front parking lights or turnsignal dont work either when I do that. The only flashing is coming from my rear turn signals. I tried to replace the turn signal flasher but could not reach or find it. I am wondering if that is the problem.

A: chcek the fuse thats all i could think of if they work with the emergency flashers

Q: Can i still fit my 96 firebird engine parts on my 97 camaro engine?
So i got a 97 camaro engine dropped into my 96 firebird after the original engine seized up. But before all of that i had just bought a 96 firebird cold air intake and K&N air filter. Can i still fit it on the camaro engine? And for future reference should i be searching for 97 camaro engine parts or 96 firebird parts?

I know that the camaro and firebird are extremely related to one another but not sure if the engine is the same.

A: Yeah they’ll fit…I gotta’ tell you though, I just wish I could get people on this forum to stop being duped by silly marketing lies about CAI’s and K&N air filters. That stuff is a complete waste of money…Enjoy washing your air filter!

Q: When is the 2010 camaro going to sell for sticker price?
I live in california and finding a new V6 camaro for sticker price is almost impossible.

A: Give it about 2 or 3 months.

Q: What would be required to Convert an 89 305 v8 camaro from auto to stickshift?
I wanna convert my 89 camaro from an auto to a stickshift. Tired of automatics.

A: First you will need all of the shift lever parts, cover plates, boots, etc. The engine needs it’s flywheel replaced with one for a manual trans. (Different than the one used with an automatic) The pedal assembly for a stick shift can be picked up at a junk yard and uses the same mounting brackets as the automatic’s pedals.

Plug the vacuum lines from the engine to the automatic. The hardest part is determining which sensors need to be removed/added and where in the electrical harness they are located. Usually the schematic diagram in the Haynes or Chilton repair manual shows both the manual trans hookups and the automatic hookups. Also check the drive shaft to make sure it’s the right length, as some automatics are longer and thus use shorter drive shafts. Check the trans mounts to make sure they line up. They are usually the same, but I’ve seen a few cars with 2 sets of mounting points available depending on trans. Add clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and lots of physical labor and it’s done.

A: Try replacing the bulbs. If that doesn’t work you may have bad light sockets.

Q: How long would the break in period for a 2010 Camaro be?
Just bought a new Camaro and I was wondering how to and how long the break-in period would be? Car cost me a good chunk of money and I want to do everything right.

A: Just drive it. I’m 61 years old and have lost track of the number of cars I’ve bought new. Never drove any of them special to “break them in”. When it left the assembly line I’ll bet money the guy that drove it away wasn’t easy on it because he had to get back to the plant to drive the next one away. In 1970 a salesman friend of mine loaned me a new Chevy Impala while my car was in the shop. He disconnected the speedo so the miles wouldn’t show. I ran the pi** out of that for two days. We still laugh about the guy who eventually bought it new and drove it carefully to “break it in”!!!
